42 Kilometres of Real-World Maritime Autonomy Testing
HANNAH — High Autonomous Navigation with Nautical Artificial Horizon — moved UFB’s autonomous-maritime development into a real operating environment. The project used the Schlei in Schleswig-Holstein as a 42-kilometre digital test field.

From development to real-world validation
The Federal Ministry of Transport documented Unleash Future Boats as project coordinator and ZeroOne as the technology carrier used for autonomous testing. The work included the development and validation of systems for reliable maritime environment perception under real conditions.
The test field created a place where autonomous maritime systems could be developed together with the operational, safety and infrastructure questions that appear only when technology leaves the laboratory.
Company asset
For UFB, HANNAH was not simply a research grant. It created project-management experience, test procedures, operating knowledge, real-world data and an institutional framework for autonomous maritime validation.
