Memories of the 2018 drought shock:
In #2018, the #Rhine waterway was #closed to freight traffic for a total of #132 days. “According to the Federation of German Industries, one third of the companies based there had to complain about “significantly higher transport costs of up to 50 percent”, while two thirds were only “insufficiently able to maintain their supply chains” with other means of transport.”
