HANNAH in the European Inland-Navigation Regulatory Environment
In February 2022, UFB presented interim results from HANNAH to the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR / ZKR), bringing the company’s autonomous-maritime work into a European regulatory and inland-navigation context.

The discussion connected real-world test-field experience with questions relevant to cross-border inland navigation, safety and the future regulatory treatment of autonomous vessels.
The CCNR’s automation-project register continues to list HANNAH with Unleash Future Boats GmbH, Schleswig, for the project period August 2021 to December 2022.
Institutional progression
This marked a further step in UFB’s institutional development: from national funding and real-world testing towards direct European dialogue around autonomous navigation.
